With experience that belies her years and an ethos steeped in excellence and integrity, Mary is a licensed estate agent whose passion, drive, and commitment to her customers underpin everything that makes Monarch Estate Agents the first choice for anyone buying, selling, leasing or renting property in Melbourne.
In early 2024 – armed with ten years’ experience in real estate and her infectious enthusiasm – Mary opened her own business, and Monarch Estate Agents was born. But her journey in the property industry began much earlier, as a teenager, when she helped her family manage its own investment properties as private landlords.
Growing up, Mary mistakenly believed a stereotype: “all estate agents do is collect rent.” The time she spent working with her parents exploded that particular myth, as she saw for herself how difficult property management could be – rent arrears, property damage, maintenance, constant VCAT hearings – and began to think there had to be a better way than private property management.
Unsurprisingly, she was inspired to make real estate her profession, aged 21. She began at Ray White, and learned the value of systems, processes, and structure. However, she also saw the downside of high-volume agencies: overloaded property managers, inconsistent communication, and clients who felt overlooked.
Mary worked in both sales and property management roles at Ray White, but her real passion was property management. She moved to a premium city agency, where she fell in love with the boutique business model — one built on personalised service, attention to detail, excellence, and genuine client relationships.
Along the way, Mary spent a year on the CEO’s personal staff at Woolworths, where she developed and honed her leadership, communication, and business skills, but despite enjoying this period, her passion for property beckoned. Former clients continued to contact her, lamenting how hard it was to find agents who truly managed properties with care. Their trust and insights became the catalyst for launching her own agency.
This wealth of accrued experience crystallised into Monarch Estate Agents — a boutique Melbourne agency built on the philosophy that property management should never be based on volume, but on genuine care, standards, communication, and long-lasting relationships with buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants.
